Delhi HC blast: Seven detained from Uttar Pradesh

New Delhi: Two days after a crude bomb exploded in a car parking lot outside Delhi High Court, investigators have detained seven people from Pilkhuwa in Ghaziabad district.
Reports, Friday, claimed that all seven suspects were detained late last night.Although no official confirmation has been made by the investigators on the arrests, yet the family members of the suspects have confirmed that their children were taken away for interrogation last night.
A minor explosion took place near a Ford Figo car park outside the Delhi High Court on Wednesday afternoon. However, the low-intensity blast caused no damage to any property or injury to anyone.
Later, the police recovered some nail-like shrapnel, a timer device and ammonium nitrate from the blast site.
After initial investigations, the authorities said, “Nails and bolts were packed and a detonator was attached to the timer.”
Delhi Police's elite anti-terror wing Special Cell is investigating the explosion outside the court.
The last incident of terror attack here took place in September 2008 when bomb blasts in five different places left 26 people dead and more than 100 injured.
