No relief for Prakash Jha yet

Still no relief for director Prakash Jha. The Supreme Court on Tuesday asked Jha to make Uttar Pradesh chief secretary as party in the case.

Jha's counsel Ameet Naik told TOI, "Judge has asked us to make Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary as party in the case."

It maybe recalled here that Prakash Jha moved Supreme Court on Friday challenging the ban on his film 'Aarakshan' in Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Punjab.

However, as the day wore on, it was clear that it was the viewers who had reservations going to theatres, fearing trouble. Jha failed to get interim relief to lift the ban on the film before its release.
Day after the release of Aarakshan, Andhra Pradesh and Punjab lifted the ban on the film but Uttar Pradesh continued to stay the release for three weeks.

According to website boxofficeindia, the film has collected a total of Rs 19 crore in the first weekend of the release.
